Quality Matters Courses

In 2017, Mississippi State University embraced Quality Matters (QM) as its benchmark for excellence in online courses. Recognized internationally, QM sets the industry standard for well-designed online courses, with a focus on promoting and improving the quality of online education and student learning worldwide.

To earn the prestigious QM seal, a course undergoes a rigorous review process. At Mississippi State, our instructional design staff at the Center for Distance Education, each well-versed in QM rubric implementation, conduct an internal review of the course. Working collaboratively with faculty, the review team provides feedback and suggestions to meet QM standards. Subsequently, the course may be recommended for the official QM review process, where it will be evaluated by QM-trained peers. Upon successful certification, the course receives the QM seal, which remains valid for five years.
