Online MBA Student Jung Tai Receives Statewide Recognition for Volunteer Leadership

Volunteer Mississippi recently honored Mississippi State MBA student and active duty U.S. Navy service member Jung Tai with its 2025 Veteran "Hero in Service" award. Tai received the recognition at the GIVE Award ceremony held at the Two Mississippi Museums in Jackson.

This statewide recognition celebrates Tai’s outstanding commitment to volunteer service across Mississippi. She has dedicated more than 1,000 volunteer hours to supporting fellow veterans and giving back to local communities through organizations such as the Mississippi Children’s Museum, Meridian Railroad Museum, and the Alzheimer’s Association.

In a formal letter, Mississippi First Lady Elle Reeves praised Tai’s leadership, compassion and unwavering dedication to others.

“You are an inspiration,” she wrote, commending Tai’s role in helping make Mississippi a better place.

Graduate students like Tai exemplify what it means to serve beyond the classroom. Through service, leadership and personal sacrifice, they are building stronger communities and a better future, starting right here in Mississippi.
